Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh, situated on the banks of the river Musi. It is known as the Istambul of India. The history of the city dates back to the time of the Kakatiya rulers of Warangal. Mohammed Qutub Shah, the fifth king of Golconda fell in love with Bhagmathi and founded the city of Bhagyanagra in 1591. Later he renamed the city as Hyderabad. The last Nizam was considered to be the richest man in India. Hyderabad offers a variety of tourist attractions the heritage monuments, Lakes and Parks, Gardens and Resorts, Museums to delectable cuisine and a delightful shopping experience.
Places of attraction :
Char Minar: Popularly known as the Arc de Triomphe of the East, stands in the centre of the city. Built by the fifth King of the dynasty Mohammed Quil Shah in honour of his Hindu wife Bhagmati who lived in Chiham village.
Mecca Masjid: The largest Masjid of South India, its construction was started by King Abdullah Qutub Shah in 1614 AD but it was completed by Aurangzeb in 1687.

Golconda Fort: The name originates from the Telugu words ‘Golla and Konda’ Sheperd’s hill after the neighbouring Warangal. A clap under the canopy of the Fateh Darwaza can be heard at the far away summit palace.
Qutub Shahi Tombs: Close to Golconda Fort are the tombs of the seven Qutub Shahi rulers amidst the Ibrahim bagh.
Birla Temple: Sri Venkateswara temple or the Kala Pahad temple is built with 2000 tones of white marble-blend of the Khajuraho and Bodhgaya of North India and Raj Gopuram of South India architecture.
Birla Planetarium: It is India’s most modern planetarium and first of its kind in the country.
Public Gardens: These gardens have some outstanding specimens of Asaf Jahi architecture
Hussain Sagar: Constructed in 1562 AD the lake divides Secunderabad from Hyderabad. It also provides boating facilities.

Osmnia University: Founded in 1917 at the suggestion of Sir Akbar Hydri, it is a fine piece of architecture. Walls are decorated with flowered jail work with marble inlay on them.
Nehru Zoological Park: Sprawling across 300 lush green acres, it is the biggest zoo in India with 250 species.
Salarjung Museum: This museum houses one of the biggest, one family (Predominently one man) collections of antiques of the world. The objects include Persian carpets, Mughal miniatures, Chienese porcelain, Japanese lacquerware, and others.
AP State Museum: A show window and a brilliant artistic stroke exhibiting a rich culture, artistic and archaeological heritage of the region, this museum stands as an important museum treasures.
Legislative Assembly: Constructed in the year 1913, the attractive building of Legislative Assembly was originally Hyderabad State Townhall. It represents a synthesis of Rajasthani and Persian styles, bearing an all white look.
Hi-Tec City: Moving away from the city of Hyderabad to another world, rising high to the sky, the Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy city with unique building of Cyber Towers promotes several world renowned software companies. The Hi-Tec City is the Cyber capital of South India.

Ramoji Film City: Located in the outskirts of glorious city of Hyderabad, built in a sprawling 200 acres of area, having picturesque locations, this film city is an attraction not only for film world but also to general tourists.
Shilparamam: Enveloped by mammoth hillocks, a secret till it is reached, not too far from the dazzling city of Hyderabad and the wide open Crafts Village is Shilparamam.
